Job description
Our family is looking for a dedicated, passionate and experienced nanny/ cleaner/ mother's helper/ tutor in Toronto for 2 girls aged 12 and 7, and our sweet dog, Jasper. Part time- 10-15 hrs/week Flexible *mornings M-F 8-9am (school drop off for 7 yr old 8:30am to 9am is especially needed). *occasional Sat or Sun while I work Please consider the following before responding! Ideally, you are: *RELIABLE, punctual * experienced, with at least a few years working with kids *playful, loving, energetic, enthusiastic, an excellent communicator *PATIENT *have a positive attitude and uplifting personality *have an understanding of peaceful/positive parenting and can implement these practices *able to bring CALM to the chaos. *gentle and respectful touch *able to engage, interact and communicate with our girls in a positive and respectful manner. *able to reinforce limitations without yelling, coercion, threats, force, bribes or consequences. *you have a genuine love for children, and have 'a way' for making them feel seen, heard and respected. *a confident role model and can demonstrate a high level of social awareness and responsibility towards self and others. *someone who strongly values honest communication. We are certainly not perfect in all these areas and do not expect you to be either! We strive to maintain a growth mindset and always hold ourselves accountable. Spending time in nature is so valuable for us and we enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors- bike riding, visiting the island, walking along the Harbourfront and visiting the Music Garden, visiting High Park or any park with greenery or trees to climb and natural spaces to explore. We love to play games- card games, board games, puzzles. I try to limit screen use/tech time because it can easily get out of control! I usually have some extracurricular activities planned throughout the year but we limit these so as not to overload their schedules or create unnecessary stress. Having downtime and getting bored can be incredibly valuable as well! We love listening to music, dancing and attending performances around our neighborhood and city. Anything hands on and sensorial is usually a big hit. There was a sudden death in the family in Nov. 2023- my girls lost their dad- and I find myself mostly on my own. I really just need some reliable and consistent help to ease the burden of doing it all myself. Need help with: - tutoring 7 year old and 12 year old- mostly literacy support- could be game-based - school drop off Mon- Fri 8-9am, then some housework for a couple hours 1-2 days/week, including taking out the dog on days when I'm at work - occasional weekend support while I work - washing dishes - vacuuming - folding laundry We live near Harbourfront, TO.
