Job description

Our client is looking for a  Finance & Administration Controller  to join their team and drive financial and operational success.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Supervision

  • Supervise the accounting closing process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, management reports, budgets, and performance dashboards.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and negotiate lines of credit and other financial agreements.

Strategic Analysis and Planning

  • Collaborate with department managers to manage budget forecasts.
  • Analyze the company's financial performance and propose recommendations to optimize profitability and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Leadership and Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and coach accounting personnel.
  • Evaluate team performance, set objectives, and manage schedules and priorities.
  • Promote a strong corporate culture based on organizational values.
  • Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee insurance coverages (e.g., civil liability, commercial) and assess risks.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure operational integrity.
  • Process Improvement and Digitalization

  • Actively participate in ERP implementation for the finance department.
  • Standardize and simplify accounting processes across various branches in Canada.
  • Administrative Supervision

  • Supervise activities related to special events.
  • Manage business travel and oversee all administrative functions, including lease renewals, rental contracts, purchasing, customer support, and more.
  • Other Duties

  • Stay current with accounting and tax laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.
  • Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience
  • Experience with project / job costing
