Job Title: Sr Electronics Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Electronics Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing low-noise analog circuits, including sensor front-end amplifiers, filtering, and data acquisition systems. You will work on high-speed digital and analog board design, conduct schematic entry, perform circuit simulations, and undertake electrical worst-case analysis. This position requires a deep understanding of avionics-level electronics and proficiency in testing and debugging circuit card assemblies (CCAs) at various levels.
Responsibilities
- Design low-noise analog circuits, including sensor front-end amplifiers and data acquisition systems.
- Engage in high-speed digital and analog board design, including schematic entry and circuit simulations.
- Perform electrical worst-case analysis, parts stress analysis, and PWB layout design.
- Support circuit card assembly (CCA) drawings.
- Test and debug CCAs at the board level, and avionics at the unit and system integration levels.
- Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, TDRs, VNAs, power amplifiers, and function generators.
- Design DC brushless/brushed motor drivers/controllers, resolvers, and encoders.
- Manufacture test racks and other electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) assemblies.
- Perform routine checks and design verifications of COTS components in EGSE designs.
- Design motor control schemes and sensors related to motor drivers.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers for design reviews.
- Maintain strong human relations skills and meet project deadlines.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in analog and high-speed digital design.
- Experience with motor control.
- Hardware simulation experience using PSpice or LTspice.
- Proficiency with electrical test and lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, TDRs, VNAs, power amplifiers, and function generators.
- Experience supporting aerospace or space projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with OrCAD Suite of software.
- Experience with MS Excel, MS Visio, and VBA.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
- Understanding of PCB/CCA manufacturing cycle processes.
- Experience with manufacturing and assembly practices.
- Ability to work in product-based, design-to-cost environments.
- Experience collaborating with customers on integrating avionics at their facilities.
Work Environment
This position requires regular hours of 40 hours per week, with a minimum of four days in the office (Monday to Thursday). The work environment is collaborative and collegial, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing. The dress code is business casual, with an emphasis on dressing professionally when meeting with customers. The role involves working on cutting-edge space robotics projects that support manned space missions and expand further to lunar gateway and space stations. The organization has a long history of developing advanced robotics for space applications and is actively expanding its expertise to new areas, including nuclear, medical, industrial, and mining applications.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Brampton, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
