Contract Professional – Financial Reconciliation & Vendor Contracts
Location: Vancouver, BC
Duration: 12-Month Contract

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Contract Professional to support one of British Columbia’s largest utility providers. This role will focus on the financial reconciliation and ongoing management of a portfolio of vendor contracts, ensuring contractual compliance, financial accuracy, and effective expenditure management.
The successful candidate will combine strong contract management experience with financial analysis, reporting, and stakeholder management skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone comfortable digging into contract data, identifying discrepancies, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring financial and contractual obligations are being met.
Key Responsibilities

Perform financial reconciliation activities across a portfolio of vendor contracts.

Monitor contract performance and ensure contractual obligations are being fulfilled.

Validate financial data and identify discrepancies, risks, and potential compliance issues.

Take timely action to resolve contract and financial issues.

Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage, expenditures, and budget requirements.

Support financial reporting and ensure adherence to established finance controls.

Analyze contract data and provide accurate, timely business insights to stakeholders.

Work closely with vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain effective working relationships.

Monitor supplier performance and support initiatives to improve contract outcomes.

Ensure contract activities comply with applicable organizational policies and procedures.

Support sourcing, procurement, and management of goods and services contracts.

Maintain accurate contract records, reporting, and supporting documentation.

Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement across contract and financial management activities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful contract delivery.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 5 years of contract management experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent.

Demonstrated experience monitoring contract performance and identifying and resolving contractual risks.

Strong experience with financial reconciliation, contract expenditure monitoring, and financial data validation.

Experience forecasting, tracking, and reporting on contract usage and financial information.

Advanced proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Dynamics, and Project.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and provide meaningful business insights.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with suppliers, contractors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have

Knowledge of public sector procurement law and supply chain concepts.

Strong working knowledge of project management principles.

Experience building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and supply chain teams.

Experience with contract forecasting, budget monitoring, and finance control requirements.
