This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Visual Studio Code extensions that cater to embedded software development workflows. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Visual Studio Code extensions tailored to embedded software development workflows.
- Partner closely with firmware and platform engineers to identify workflow challenges and convert them into effective, user‑friendly tooling solutions.
- Integrate extensions with embedded compilers, debuggers, hardware programming tools, and related toolchains.
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and cross‑platform compatibility of all extensions.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, validation, packaging, and release of extensions.
- Develop automated tests covering extension functionality and end‑to‑end integration scenarios.
- Produce clear documentation for extension capabilities, APIs, and usage for both internal teams and external users.
- Review user feedback, troubleshoot reported issues, and deliver timely enhancements or fixes.
- Participate in technical and architectural decisions related to developer tooling, DevOps practices, and overall developer experience strategy.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in software development.
- Full Stack Development with proficiency in Typescript.
- Experience with Front-End and Back-End development.
- Proficiency in developing Visual Studio Code Extensions.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Ottawa, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
