Reports To : Maintenance Supervisor
Summary : The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general building and property maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the fabrication, install and repair of production equipment, jigging and fixtures. They will maintain HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and equipment. The Maintenance Technician will be involved in vehicle maintenance (Trailer repairs and tire replacements).

Job Duties
Comply with Occupational H&S standards and practices.Assist in the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery.Perform Regular property inspections of units, common areas, building exteriors, and yard.Keep accurate records of space conditions including roof, HVAC and utilities.Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures and grounds.Troubleshooting and repair of production machines (including mechanical, electrical, controls pneumatic, hydraulic).Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, pumps, fan units, control panels, thermostats, etc.Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.Requirements
High school diploma or GEDMechanical and / or electrical aptitudeElectrical or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) training / education considered an asset (Mechanical Skills)2 years experience in a maintenance or mechanical role considered an assetAbility to create alternative solutions to problemsStrong knowledge of occupational health and safetyValid Class 5 driver’s license with clean drivers abstractAbility to perform handyman repairs (e.g. caulking, windows and doors, light fixtures etc.)Strong attention to detailFirst Aid certification would be considered an assetWork Conditions
Ability to work indoor and outdoors, in all seasonsUse of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (e.g. eye protection, safety boots etc.)Working at heights (MEWP)Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50lbsRegularly works near moving mechanical parts, in conditions that include exposure to heat, humidity and dust.Hazards associated with the industry.Overtime as required.
