Job Title: Project Coordinator
Job Description
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting complex nuclear tooling projects by managing documentation, assisting with project scheduling, and coordinating activities between shop floor teams and the project management department. This role focuses on maintaining accurate project records, ensuring milestones are met, and contributing to the successful execution of refurbishment tooling projects within the nuclear industry. The position offers the opportunity to work across multiple phases of the project life cycle, from build-to-print through testing and documentation sign-off for end customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and refining electronic file systems and standard project documents using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Support the creation and ongoing refinement of MS Project schedules throughout the planning phase of the project life cycle.
- Complete administrative functions for the Project Management department, including preparing documents in coordination with administration and maintaining project checklists.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Assist in maintaining project-controlled documents, ensuring version control and compliance with internal standards.
- Prepare shipping documents for project-related materials and equipment as required.
- Maintain and follow departmental procedures to support consistent and efficient project execution.
- Perform other duties and project-related tasks as assigned to support overall project goals.
- Communicate professionally in writing and verbally with internal teams and stakeholders, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Work effectively in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings while adhering to all safety requirements.
- Monitor project progress to ensure scheduled milestones are met and proactively notify appropriate departments when milestones are at risk or not achieved.
- Adhere to the established Project Operating Policy and contribute to continuous improvement of project processes.
- Maintain a strong sense of corporate citizenship by supporting the organization’s vision and demonstrating ownership and accountability in daily work.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with high ethical standards and in compliance with the company’s code of conduct.

- Work closely with shop floor teams to identify and help close documentation and process gaps related to nuclear tooling projects.
- Support the documentation team to ensure all required documentation is completed, reviewed, and signed off for end customers.
- Contribute to nuclear refurbishment tooling projects within the CANDU portfolio, including work related to Qinshan and Cernavoda programs, particularly removal tool sets.
- Participate in projects at various phases of the project cycle, gaining exposure to design interpretation, build-to-print activities, testing, and final documentation.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in project coordination or a closely related role.
- Technical discipline such as technology or engineering, with the ability to understand and support technical project documentation.
- Experience in industries such as automotive, defense, aerospace, nuclear, power generation, or related manufacturing environments.
- Strong ownership and accountability mindset, with a demonstrated ability to proactively find solutions to problems.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and participate constructively in group meetings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and use pivot tables and perform VLOOKUP functions.
- Experience with project management practices and tools, including basic MS Project scheduling support.
- Hands-on experience with document control processes, including organizing, tracking, and maintaining controlled documents.
- Comfort working in a shop environment and moving between multiple buildings as part of daily responsibilities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive between facilities as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience or familiarity with nuclear industry projects or nuclear refurbishment tooling is highly beneficial.
- Exposure to nuclear qualification processes or standards is an asset.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and build-to-print documentation is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly in managing large volumes of project documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work under time pressure and manage priorities within a demanding project schedule.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.
- Interest in developing a long-term career in project coordination within complex technical or nuclear environments.
Work Environment
This is an on-site role based in a shop-focused environment, with work taking place across multiple buildings. The position requires being comfortable in a manufacturing or shop floor setting and regularly interacting with technical and production teams. The standard work arrangement is five days per week in the office. Core hours are 9:00 . to 3:00 ., with flexibility for an earlier start (for example, 7:00 . to 3:00 , within an 8.5-hour workday that includes a 30-minute lunch break. A split second shift from 4:00 . to midnight may be available but is not required. The role involves frequent use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and MS Project, and engagement with project documentation, controlled document systems, and nuclear tooling projects. The environment emphasizes safety, ethical conduct, collaboration, and adherence to project operating policies, offering exposure to the full project life cycle—from build-to-print through testing and documentation—for nuclear refurbishment tooling projects.
