Base pay range

CA$75,000.00/yr - CA$85,000.00/yr

Reporting into the Corporate Controller, the General Accountant/Bookkeeper will support corporate accounting functions.

Our client is a Toronto-based private equity firm.

Description

• Hybrid position: perform duties from the Downtown Toronto (Financial District) office location, at least 3 days a week.
• Handle and process all aspects of accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, inter-company transactions, and government filings.
• Perform monthly closing and all related journal entries using Quickbooks.
• Process payments and generate semi monthly cash reports.
• Ensure accounting processes are executed efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision

Profile

• +5 years bookkeeping experience, previous experience preparing financial statements, cash management, budgets, audit working papers.
• Must have considerable knowledge with basic accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, debits, credits, etc.) and accounting functions.
• The ability to effectively interact with internal & external stakeholders.
• Experience with MS Office products, including Intermediate skills in Excel.
• Quickbooks experience an asset, but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Post-Secondary Education (with a diploma in accounting or similar) an asset, but not required.
