Responsibilities

  • Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
  • Performs various manual or mechanical production functions by operating, adjusting, and repairing production equipment to meet customer specifications.
  • Disassembles, overhauls, and rebuilds production equipment.
  • Performs troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on production equipment as required.
  • On-the-job training and development of assigned personnel.
  • Conducts inspection of in-process materials and finished products.
  • Replenishes supplies, materials, parts, and tooling required for assigned area.
  • Relieves operators and adjusters for breaks.
  • Performs record-keeping duties as required under the direction of management.
  • Communicates pertinent information to next shift.
  • Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
  • Performs cleanup, painting, and housekeeping duties.
  • Rotates through all workstations as needed.
  • Reviews SOPs and control plans relevant to the area on a regular basis.
  • May be required to go to customer(s) to troubleshoot equipment and/or finished products.
  • Initiates, reviews, and follows all SOPs for area of responsibility.
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department and the company, handling stress and minimizing conflicts.

Position Requirements & Competencies

  • High School Diploma or education equivalent required.
  • Education related to industrial mechanics is an asset.
  • Job‑related experience minimum of 2 years.
  • Required to work assigned schedule or 12‑hour shifts (4ON/4OFF), rotating days and nights, Monday through Sunday; must be able to work overtime and/or be on call.
  • Apply standard evaluation, selection, and adaptations of manufacturing techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Identify product defects.
  • Use hand and power tools.
  • Interest and aptitude for mechanics.
  • Operate and use a computer.
  • Maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
  • Operate forklift or aerolift if required.
  • Use precision measuring instruments.
  • Meet deadlines, concentrate, and pay attention to detail.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize.
  • Knowledge of nomenclature of assigned equipment and products, and plant quality standards.
  • Understanding of operating principles of all assigned equipment.
  • Maintain awareness of hazardous waste management and other environmental requirements, attending training.
  • Position exposes to occupational hazards: high noise, physical obstacles, chemicals, confined areas.

  • Hiring Salary Range: Starts at $36.81/h
