MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a strong, Special Projects Project Manager for our client, one of Vancouver’s most respected and established general contractors.
You are a passionate construction professional with a strong set of educational and work accomplishments in your background.
You have delivered interested, complicated construction projects in the institutional, commercial, or tenant improvement and / or special projects sectors.
You are a problem-solver and quick thinker, a planner, and a decision-maker.

Responsibilities :
- Monitor and control project costs and budgets
- Develop and update Risk Plan Matrix with Director of SP, and manage throughout the project
- Evaluate potential project execution strategies to ensure implementation of the best sequence utilization of materials, equipment, labour and subcontractors for successful outcomes
- Schedule the project (or assume responsibility for the Schedule) using Primavera P6 to manage construction activities
- Initiate, organize, and direct the Project Team to ensure project budget, scope, and schedule are attainable
- Collaborate with Superintendent and Field Staff to ensure clear direction, safety and site management
- Review project progress, cost, and schedule with the project team weekly
- Resolve disputes in a timely manner using conflict resolution strategies
- Maintain a superior worksite with an emphasis on safety, ensuring company standards are followed throughout all aspects of the project
- Assist, review and negotiate Prime contracts with he Director of SP
- Execute Prime contract deliverable
- Negotiate subtrade contracts with the Director of Construction as required
- Accountable for building successful project team relationships
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in Project Management
- Post-Secondary : 2 years minimum technical school diploma or university degree in construction management / engineering or applicable field.
- Leadership, Conflict Resolution, and Mediation skills
- Advanced Communication (written and verbal) skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft apps, project management software (i.e. Procore), Bluebeam, and scheduling software (i.e. Primavera P6)
