Job Title: Field WelderJob DescriptionThis role focuses on installing welded, fitted, and fabricated custom projects and miscellaneous metal components at client sites. You will work primarily with lighter gauge metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel, and will regularly install unique, one-off pieces in the field. The position combines hands-on welding and fabrication with on-site installation and occasional leadership of small teams.
Responsibilities
- Install welded, fitted, and fabricated custom metal projects and miscellaneous components at client sites.
- Perform daily welding on light gauge metals, including carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Weld custom, one-off items and unique pieces tailored to client specifications.
- Carry out MIG, TIG, and flux core welding, ensuring high-quality and structurally sound welds.
- Fabricate and fit components accurately according to drawings, specifications, and measurements.
- Perform grinding and finishing work to prepare welded pieces for installation or final use.
- Install unique and custom pieces safely and efficiently in the field, adapting to site conditions and constraints.
- Operate overhead cranes, sit-down forklifts, zoom booms, and scissor lifts to move and position materials and assemblies.
- Conduct site orientations and support health and safety monitoring during field installations.
- Lead or assist in managing small teams of installers on-site to complete projects on schedule.
- Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working in the shop and in the field.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and adjust designs or methods as needed to meet client requirements.
Essential Skills- Proven experience welding light gauge metals, including carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Strong MIG, TIG, and flux core welding skills with the ability to produce clean, consistent welds.
- Hands-on experience installing unique and custom pieces for clients in the field.
- Experience welding, fitting, and fabricating custom or one-off items.
- Proficiency with grinding and metal finishing tools.
- CWB FLUXCORE or CWB GMAW certification.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and sit-down forklifts.
- Experience operating zoom booms and scissor lifts.
- AWP (aerial work platform) certification.
- Ability to manage small teams of installers and provide on-site guidance.
- Experience performing site orientations and health and safety inspections.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing site conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Desire to learn and grow in a long-term role that involves continual learning and problem solving.
- Previous experience in a supervisor, team lead, or installer capacity.
- Comfort working both in the field and in a shop environment.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift position, working Monday to Friday from 7:00 . to 3:30 . You will work in smaller teams both in the field and in the shop, with approximately 16 people currently employed. The environment emphasizes learning and growth, providing ample opportunity to develop new skills and take on more responsibility. You will regularly use equipment such as overhead cranes, sit-down forklifts, zoom booms, and scissor lifts while working on a mix of shop-based fabrication and field installations.
