THE ROLE:

In this high-profile role, you will be the overall program leader for keyengineering initiatives from concept to execution. You will work across all ofengineering andbusiness to meet overall initiative and/or product objectives.

THE PERSON:

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardwareprograms,youwill also drive a schedule for business planningtowards growth that align to business strategy

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance
  • Scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads andEngineers
  • Develop program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components and HW/FW dependencies, negotiate and create astaffingplan that supports the schedule
  • Building,creating,andmaintaininga well-developed, managed and executed program plan is critical
  • You willestablishformal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope,performance,and qualityKPIs
  • Excellence in resource planning isnecessary
  • The successful candidate must also plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs
  • Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement. You must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items
  • Able to communicate concepts and processes withstakeholders
  • Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and competingpriorities and tight turnaround times
  • Engineering background preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Project,JIRA, Confluence and Excelis an asset
  • Experience with Agile methodology

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Formal Project Management education, PMP certified
