An established and growing mechanical contractor is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join its team. Your new role
As the Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction process by preparing accurate andpetitive estimates for a variety of mechanical construction projects. Working closely with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors, you will review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop detailed cost estimates and bid submissions. You will be responsible for coordinating pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, preparing RFIs, conducting quantity take-offs, monitoring labour and material costs, and assisting with project turnover and change order pricing. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while contributing to the continued growth and success of the organization.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have at least four years of experience in mechanical estimating or abination of estimating and project management within the construction industry. You will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and tendering processes, along with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience with quantity take-offs, cost analysis, labour forecasting, and estimating software is essential. Strong proficiency with Bluebeam, Trimble, and Microsoft Office is preferred. Mechanical trade certification, engineering education, or other relevant technical training would be considered an asset. Excellentmunication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are also required.
