Application Support Analyst

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Application Support Analyst to support our clients enterprise applications, optimize internal tools, and enhance operational workflows. This role is hands-on with Jira / Confluence, Microsoft 365, automation tools, API integrations, and cross-team collaboration. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, excellent documentation capabilities, and the ability to support both business users and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Jira / Atlassian Administration
Configure, maintain, and optimize Jira projects, workflows, schemes, dashboards, fields, and permissions .
Administer and enhance Confluence spaces , templates, and documentation structures.
Provide user support, training, troubleshooting , and best-practice guidance.
Implement and manage Jira Automation rules , integrations, and REST API–based workflows.
Integrate Jira / Confluence with other tools such as GitHub, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft 365 , and additional third-party applications.
Microsoft 365 Support
Provide Tier 2 / 3 support for Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook.
Manage user accounts, permissions, security policies, and device compliance via Azure AD and Microsoft Defender .
Troubleshoot issues related to collaboration tools, email, identity, and endpoint security.
Automation & Process Improvement
Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Power Automate, Python , or similar tools to reduce manual effort.
Build, enhance, and monitor automation workflows across Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft 365.
Identify and implement improvements to workflows, reporting, dashboards, and system performance.
Support API-based integrations and REST service connectivity for internal tools.
Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with IT, DevOps, business stakeholders, and project teams to ensure tools and applications align with operational needs.
Create and maintain process documentation , configuration guides, troubleshooting runbooks, test evidence, and requirements documentation.
Support audits, compliance activities, and ensure systems follow security, governance, and data-management standards .
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology , or a related discipline.
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence , including administration, workflow design, automation, and project configuration.
Proficiency with automation tools, including PowerShell , Power Automate , Python, or equivalent scripting languages.
Solid understanding of API integrations and REST services .
Experience using Jira and Confluence for :
Requirements documentation
Backlog management
Sprint planning
Workflow automation
Testing evidence tracking
Process and knowledge-base documentation
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment within the GTA OR Vancouver market
Nice to Have
Experience with Microsoft Logic Apps, DevOps pipelines, or ITIL / ITSM frameworks.
Familiarity with enterprise security tools or compliance frameworks.
Experience supporting integrations between Atlassian, Microsoft, and cloud-based systems.
