Job Description
AECOM Canada is searching for a Project Planning and Scheduling Specialist for a new full-time position based in Markham.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Lead development of Master schedules for Program, working with various teams, stakeholders, and Clients
- Experience in working on program schedules in a multi-disciplinary environment and team
- Lead the development and implementation of project schedules as needed
- Evaluates the schedule impact of proposed changes to the projects and/or consultancy agreements in accordance with the contract terms.
- Maintains client-level schedules and collaborates with other program schedulers to align and integrate schedule interfaces into the master program schedule.
- Provides schedule reporting and critical path analysis in line with the program’s reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of identifying and managing schedule risks and communicating with the stakeholders
- Be involved in the schedule and project status review sessions with project management and/or client, and highlight adverse schedule variances for corrective actions/ mitigation plans
- Familiar with construction schedule reviews and quality checks.
- Prepare schedule-related reports for the internal team and the client as per the contractual obligations and management requirements in accordance with the company's procedures
- Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding.
- Supports analysis of the schedule, identifies and investigates project schedule variances
- Supports gathering and assembling data for schedule updating.
- Supports measurement of project schedule progress and gathers and assembles data for schedule and network updating.
- Familiar with engineering workflows and basic construction methodology.
- Understands CPM scheduling concepts and principles.
- Understands concepts and principles of scope control and change management.
- Proficient in the application of Earned Value Management KPIs and Progress Measurement.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
University education in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
Competency Requirements
• Strongly preferred seven (7) years of experience in construction planning and staging for large infrastructure, Building, and or environmental projects
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, logistics planning, and resource management
• Familiarity with construction methodologies, safety regulations, and environmental considerations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
. University education with applicable further development in Project Management would be preferred.
Professional Designation (preferred but not mandatory):
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE Certification preferred.
- Primavera P6 – Advanced Level,
- Familiar with other scheduling applications such as PS project, Tilos, etc.
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
