Our client is sourcing a SOX Consultant for a 12-month contract.

About the Opportunity

• Planned and performed risk-based reviews of financial and operational processes.
• Evaluated internal controls and identified opportunities to strengthen governance and improve efficiency.
• Conducted control testing and documented results in accordance with established compliance frameworks.
• Assessed financial reporting processes and monitored adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identified risks, developed recommendations, and tracked corrective actions through completion.
• Collaborated with internal stakeholders and external assurance providers to support audit activities.
• Participated in operational reviews, business process evaluations, and special projects.
• Supported compliance initiatives, fraud risk assessments, and governance programs.
• Performed data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
• Prepared audit documentation, reports, and presentations for management.

• Professional accounting designation or equivalent experience.
• Several years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or a related assurance role.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks, financial reporting, and risk management principles.
• Experience performing process reviews, control evaluations, and compliance testing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial reporting or data analysis tools.
• Experience in a regulated or complex business environment is considered an asset.
