About the CASA House Program You will be part of a team that provides individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.

CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addiction challenges.

Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months.

Job Details Salary/Wage range: $27.00 - $29.70 per hour Vacation: 15 days Shift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day Primary location: Edmonton Union: In-Scope Classification: Cook II FTE: 1.0 Status : Permanent About the Role Reporting to the Program Manager, CASA House, the Cook works collaboratively with the interprofessional team in assessing, planning and implementing nutritional services for CASA House patients.

The Cook II will: Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established menus from the Dietician, dietary requirements and treatment plans.

Monitor food costs and manage the food budget by adjusting purchasing and meal planning based on supplier pricing, inventory levels and budget requirements.

Order food, kitchen and sanitation supplies, ensuring deliveries are properly received, handled, stored and put away.

Ensure CASA House food services consistently comply with Public Health Act Food Regulation standards, and participate in inspections and meetings with Public Health Inspectors as required.

Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure it is clean, safe and in good working order.

Maintain adequate inventory of food service and sanitation supplies, including aprons, gloves, hairnets and other required items.

Maintain a clean, safe and organized food service environment.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Experience Food Safety Certification or an equivalent recognized food-handling certification is required.

WHMIS certification is considered an asset.

Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide and its application to food services for adolescents.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience using commercial kitchen and food-service equipment.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage food service responsibilities effectively.

Experience working with, or the ability to work effectively with, an adolescent population.

Understanding of the relationship between nutrition, wellness and mental health.

Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful and supportive environment for adolescents.

Conditions of Employment A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check.

This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.

Working Conditions Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.

Ability to stand and remain physically active for extended periods.

Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including refrigerated and heated areas.

Ability to safely lift and carry loads of up to 25 kg (55 lbs).

Ability to perform the physical demands associated with food preparation, including bending, reaching, lifting, carrying and moving supplies and equipment.
