Job Description

Job Description

At Chatters, hair is more than a service, it's a source of confidence, connection, and positive energy. We believe in the power of great hair to change how people feel about themselves and how they show up in the world. As a Licensed Hairstylist, you'll do more than create beautiful looks—you'll create moments that empower, uplift, and leave a lasting impression.

We are on the hunt for a Licensed Hairstylist for our Chahko Mika Mall, Nelson Retail Salon!

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver professional hair services including cutting, colouring, styling, and treatments, tailored to each clients’ needs and lifestyle.
  • Create memorable client experiences through consultation, artistry, and genuine connections.
  • Stay current on trends, techniques, and product knowledge to elevate your craft and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain a loyal clientele by delivering consistent, high-quality results and exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with your team to maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-energy salon environment.
Who You Are

You align with our corporate values:

  • Start with the Power of You: You bring confidence, creativity, and accountability to your craft. You take pride in your work and ownership of your growth.
  • Every Interaction Matters: You build trust through thoughtful consultations, active listening, and care in every guest interaction.
  • Make It Memorable: You create personalized, standout experiences that keep clients coming back — not just for great hair, but for how they feel.
  • More Than Just Beauty: You understand that hair is about self-expression, confidence, and identity, and you create inclusive experiences for every client.
  • Commit to Grow and Learn: You’re passionate about ongoing education, improving your skills, and staying inspired by the beauty industry

What You Bring

  • Valid Hairstylist License in British Columbia.
  • Proven technical skills in cutting, colouring, styling, and finishing services
  • A passion for delivering exceptional client experiences from consultation to final look
  • Confidence recommending professional products to support care routines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships
  • A positive, team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced salon environment
  • Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and professional standards
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends
  • Established clientele (considered an asset)
  • Demonstrated success in client retention, rebooking, and creating repeat experiences
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed service and retail performance goals

What We Offer

  • Creative Freedom: Bring your artistry, creativity, and personal style to life in an environment where individuality is celebrated.
  • Supportive Team Culture: Join passionate professionals who collaborate, inspire one another, and celebrate each other's success.
  • Career Growth: Whether you're growing your clientele, mastering new techniques, or exploring leadership opportunities, we'll support your career every step of the way.
  • Industry-Leading Education: Your growth never stops. From beauty brand education to hands-on technical training, Chatters Campus, and our signature Biennial Chatters Symposium, we invest in helping you become the best stylist you can be.
  • Exclusive Experiences: Take your career beyond the salon with education academies, brand-hosted events, product launches, backstage styling opportunities like at the Junos and Toronto’s Own Fashion Week, beauty industry events, contests, and community partnerships that create unforgettable experiences.
  • Benefits and Perks: Health and dental benefits where applicable, RRSP employer contributions, flexible scheduling, product and service discounts, wellness programs, access to leading beauty brands, and the opportunity to work in busy, high-traffic salons.
  • Fair and Equal Pay: Starting from $18.25 per hour, plus applicable commissions.
