For full details, visit If you are a Speech Language Pathologist who loves to work with children, then this position might be just what you’re looking for! As our Speech Language Pathologist II you will be working both independently and as part of an inter-professional team, responsible for providing assessment and intervention services to primarily preschool (and some school aged) children and their families in the Lacombe and Rimbey communities. This position is based at the Lacombe Community Health Centre with travel to Rimbey required. Lacombe is a lovely city located in Central Alberta, 20 minutes north of Red Deer on the QE II. Lacombe has a wide variety of recreation amenities and facilities including the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre, Barnett Arenas, sports fields and ball diamonds, and trails and campgrounds galore! A regional public transit service connects Lacombe, Blackfalds and Red Deer and is an important quality of life benefit to those who prefer small town living. Description:

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will aid you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with pediatric rehabilitation. Experience working with SLP Assistants. Experience working with children with complex needs (hearing impairments, ASD diagnosis, etc.). Experience working with children with suspected or confirmed Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Experience using technology to provide online therapy services.
