What You’ll Do

As a Carpenter Helper / Apprentice, you will support experienced carpenters and play a key role in installation and finishing work:

• Install stick-on gasketing and frame protection using cordless drills and hand tools
• Measure, cut, and prepare materials with precision
• Follow detailed, step-by-step installation instructions
• Use an iPad to access drawings, instructions, and job information
• Assist with general carpentry and construction tasks
• Interpret basic blueprints and support layout work
• Safely operate hand and power tools
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Identify and troubleshoot minor installation issues
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite

What You Bring

Required:

• 1+ year experience as a carpenter helper or apprentice
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow written instructions step-by-step
• Experience with hand tools and cordless drills
• Basic blueprint reading skills (or willingness to learn)
• Comfortable using an iPad or tablet on site
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety and PPE compliance

Bonus (Nice to Have):

• Experience on large commercial or institutional projects
• Familiarity with gasketing, frame protection, or finish installations
• Basic understanding of carpentry layout
• Own basic tools (cordless drill, bits,
• Willingness to travel between job sites

Work Environment & Schedule

• Monday to Friday schedule (overtime opportunities expected)
• Active construction site environment
• Primary site transit-accessible (near SkyTrain; no parking available)
• Travel required between Lower Mainland job sites
• Full PPE required at all times:
  • Hard hat (with lanyard)
  • Steel-toe boots (6")
  • High-visibility clothing
  • Gloves & safety glasses
