We are seeking a detail‑oriented, organized, and motivated Senior QA Analyst/Engineer to join our IT and Software Development team.

About the Position:

The QA Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Canpar Express’s internal applications, customer‑facing platforms, and integration systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and automating test cases, reporting defects, and working closely with developers, business analysts, and business users to deliver stable and efficient software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for:
  • Desktop applications with GUI (Windows/.NET apps)
  • Web applications
  • Windows services
  • Web services
  • REST and SOAP APIs
• Write automated test scripts using:
  • SOAPUI with Groovy scripting (SOAP APIs)
• Create, maintain, and execute both manual and automated test plans and test cases.
• Validate functional, regression, integration, and performance requirements against business specifications.
• Log, track, and retest defects using industry‑standard tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Ivanti, or similar).
• Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and best practices.
• Assist in creating test data and setting up test environments.
• Use tools such as Telerik Fiddler and Wireshark to find the root cause of problems with the software being tested.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation and backend testing as part of QA activities.
• Ensure that Canpar Express systems meet security, usability, and performance benchmarks before release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing, QA analysis, or QA engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience in automated testing of desktop apps, web apps, services, and APIs.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and defect lifecycle management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in the logistics, transportation, retail or e‑commerce sector is an advantage but not required.
