Job Title: HVAC Electrician
Job Description

The HVAC Electrician is responsible for wiring, assembling, and installing electrical components in HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment. This role requires reading schematics, working with wiring harnesses and control panels, and troubleshooting electrical components to ensure proper operation and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, wire strippers, and crimpers, as well as power tools like drills, rivet guns, and torque wrenches.
• Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and schematics to strip, crimp, and terminate wires according to diagrams.
• Assemble and mount control panels, contactors, switches, and sensors.
• Install and connect circuit breakers, contactors, relays, and sensors in HVAC units.
• Perform continuity tests, voltage checks, and functional tests using multimeters.
• Troubleshoot wiring issues, short circuits, and faulty connections in assembled HVAC units.
• Ensure all electrical assemblies comply with CSA, UL, NEC standards.
• Be open to moving to afternoon shifts.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience as an Electrician.
• Valid 309A or 442A license.
• 2+ years of experience in relevant industries such as Custom Fabrication, Machine Building, or HVAC.
• Relevant Diploma in Electrical Engineering or HVAC Certification, including brazing/soldering.
• Knowledge of control circuits, motor wiring, and HVAC automation systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Electrical Safety Training (NFPA 70E, OSHA 10/30, or equivalent).
• HVAC-R Electrical Certification.
• WHMIS certification for handling electrical components safely.

Work Environment

You will be working full-time alongside a team comprising 2 welders, 2 refrigeration technicians, an electrician, and a maintenance personnel. For this project, the team includes over 20 Aerotek colleagues specializing in mechanical and electrical assembly. The building is shared with another company, providing a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Brampton, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
