Job Description

Actalent is seeking a Cost Controller for a 9 month contract with strong potential for extension, supporting the largest turnaround scheduled for next year. The role requires proven experience managing costs for major projects, turnarounds, or outages. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in forecasting, daily burn rate tracking, and cost control, with a strong command of SAP. Experience with Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be on site during E6 TAR for the duration of the turnaround (60 days - Sep/Oct 2026) in Empress, 1 hour away from Medicine Hat.
• Forecast spend to completion accurately.
• Forecast daily burn rate efficiently.
• Identify if project spend is exceeding forecasts and provide visibility to the Project Manager.
• Process daily LEMS and invoicing.
• Collaborate with vendors to receive daily timesheets and LEMS.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Work Environment

The position offers flexibility with 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home. During the on-site period, the candidate will be required to be present on location. The role provides a daily LOA of $200 during the turnaround and follows the CRA-based kilometer rate for travel expenses. The start date for this role is as soon as possible.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
