Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of baggage handling systems at Toronto Pearson International Airport. This role serves as a crucial link between the project engineering team, installation teams, subcontractors, and the customer. The successful candidate will ensure that the system is installed according to approved engineering documentation, safety requirements, and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day engineering support to installation supervisors and subcontractors.
- Interpret and clarify mechanical, electrical, and layout drawings for execution.
- Support installation activities to ensure compliance with design intent, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Identify, document, and support resolution of issues, design deviations, and non-conformances.
- Coordinate with project engineering to manage changes, design clarifications, and redline documentation.
- Support commissioning, testing, and system integration activities in coordination with controls and commissioning engineers.
- Participate in site inspections and punch list development.
- Support preparation and completion of as-built documentation.
- Maintain accurate site records and provide regular feedback to the project team.
- Ensure adherence to airport authority and customer safety policies and procedures.
Essential Skills- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, installation support, or a commissioning role.
- Experience working in industrial, logistics, or material handling environments.
- Ability to work full-time on site at an active airport facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with baggage handling systems or automated material handling systems.
- Familiarity with conveyor systems and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools for drawing review.
Work EnvironmentThe role requires walking, standing for extended periods, and working near operational equipment. The position is based at Toronto Pearson International Airport. A collaborative and safety-focused working environment is provided, with structured onboarding and on-the-job training.

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $64.00/hr.
