Who are we looking for?
Our Contaminated, Assessment and Remediation team in Waterloo is looking for an Environmental or Civil Engineering Graduate to join the team! The CAR team supports brownfield redevelopment projects, completes environmental site assessments and remediation, provides environmental services to public and private client sectors across Ontario, and develops and manages long term operation, maintenance, and monitoring of remedial systems and risk management measures.

Working with a collaborative, technically strong team that supports learning and professional growth, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Prepare project related technical documents including environmental reports, technical specifications, work plans & cost estimates, and drawings for review.
- Field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations and remediation activities will be required, and will include site investigations, contractor management, drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation, contract administration, vapour sampling, etc.
- Project types will range from environmental site assessment (Phase I and Phase II) environmental monitoring, soil/groundwater management in private, public, and federal sectors including but not limited to infrastructure and property/building developments.
- Coordination and scheduling of project related work, including working with other GHD staff, external contractors, and public entities (. obtain permits)
What you will bring to the Team:
- Relevant Bachelor of Environmental/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (P. designation in Ottawa is an asset
- 0-2 years’ of experience in the environmental engineering field. Experience working in a construction setting is an asset
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail
- Flexible with project types and responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative
- Ability to manage your schedule
- Valid driver's license (an MVR check will be performed prior to hire)

The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $67,500. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location.
