Job Description

The General Production Worker supports the manufacturing of stainless steel tubing by performing simple, repetitive production tasks as either a general labourer or a bend cell operator. In this role, you work with automated and single-process machines to load, process, and inspect metal tubes used in automotive applications such as bus frames, exhaust systems, air bags, and tubing. You contribute to consistent product quality by following established procedures and using basic measurement tools to verify specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple, repetitive production tasks as a general labourer or bend cell operator, following standardized work instructions.
• Load metal tubes into single-process machines such as deburring machines, perforators, or other designated equipment.
• Operate a bend cell by loading tubes into the cell so the robotic arm can bend them to the specified shape.
• Handle tubes exiting the bend cell via the chute and complete additional processes such as cutting, deburring, and washing as required.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure proper function and immediately report any issues or irregularities to the appropriate contact.
• Use basic quality and measurement tools to verify that tubes meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Perform visual and basic dimensional quality inspections to identify defects or non-conforming parts.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with machinery and materials in a manufacturing environment.
• Work collaboratively in teams of 3–5 people, coordinating tasks to maintain workflow and meet production targets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient production.
• Adhere to production schedules and productivity expectations while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience, including the use of basic quality or measurement tools.
• Previous experience as a machine operator or general labourer in a production environment.
• Experience working in the automotive industry or metal industry.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
• Capability to operate basic manufacturing machinery and follow machine operating procedures.
• Experience conducting basic quality inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• A consistent work history, with roles typically held for a minimum of one year and clear reasons for job changes.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with others on the production line.

There are straight day and straight afternoon shifts available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WATERLOO, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
