The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for managing the financial performance of multiple commercial construction projects from start-up through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit monthly progress draws , coordinating the full billing process
- Manage project accounts receivable and payable , including receipt tracking and payment coordination
- Review and code project costs to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Review and process subcontractor billings , ensuring compliance with contract requirements
- Maintain and manage trade partner compliance documentation
- Communicate regularly with Project Managers, subtrades, suppliers, and internal teams
- Prepare monthly project cost reports , budget reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Assist with project cost and revenue forecasting
- Support substantial completion and project close-out activities
Required Qualifications
5+ years of project accounting experience in commercial constructionStrong working knowledge of construction accounting principles and the Builders Lien ActProcore experience is required (must-have)High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and competing prioritiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPost-secondary education in accounting or finance would be an assetExperience with Acumatica would be an assetThe Kind of Person You Are
