Job Description

As a Machine Builder, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical sub-assemblies and machine components according to engineering drawings and build documentation. Your role will involve installing machine guarding, framework, linear motion components, and mechanical hardware, as well as assembling and integrating automation equipment and custom machinery. You will perform machine setup, alignment, and adjustment activities, install and connect basic pneumatic components and tubing, and verify that assemblies meet quality and design specifications. Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical fit-up and assembly issues will also be part of your duties. You will work closely with engineering and project teams to support project timelines, all while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies and machine components according to engineering drawings and build documentation.
• Install machine guarding, framework, linear motion components, and mechanical hardware.
• Assemble and integrate automation equipment and custom machinery.
• Perform machine setup, alignment, and adjustment activities.
• Install and connect basic pneumatic components and tubing.
• Verify assemblies meet quality and design specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical fit-up and assembly issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work closely with engineering and project teams to support project timelines.

Essential Skills

• Experience assembling industrial machinery, automation equipment, or custom mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly prints.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and standard shop equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and pneumatic components knowledge.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Background as a machine builder or mechanical technician.
• Forklift or aerial lift certification.

Work Environment

This position is located in a brand new facility, serving as an additional location to expand product capacity. As the primary Machine Builder on the floor, you will take on sr. responsibilities. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with set shifts. You will collaborate with a small team, working closely with the General Manager and Sr. Program Manager, while interacting with team members completing pneumatic and electrical assembly tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Windsor, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Windsor,ON.
