Job Summary
The School of Education (SoE) is seeking applicants for a sessional instructor position for the 2026 school year. We require sessional instructors for the following courses:
- EDUC 424 (Designs for Learning Elementary Mathematics) This course is worth 3.0 credits.
This course introduces fundamental pedagogical concepts and skills for teaching elementary mathematics using the B.C. Ministry of Education curriculum. Focus is placed on developing conceptual understanding and strategic competence in mathematics. Includes Indigenous math resources and pedagogies, along with mathematics for equity, diversity, and inclusive education.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements for a sessional appointment in the SoE are a MEd or MA (PhD preferred) in Education with a focus on progressive mathematics education. Preferred requirements include: TRB certification, experience teaching in the K-12 in the BC school system (preference given to public schools teachers from one of our partner districts), and teaching experience at the K-12 or post-secondary level.
