At Drop Marine, we’re redefining marine manufacturing with cutting-edge vessel and component designs. Our team thrives on precision, efficiency, and innovation. As we grow, we’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer Student to join us from September 2025 to April 2026 to support our engineering and manufacturing processes. The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer Student , you’ll assist in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems for manufacturing. You’ll gain practical experience working with SolidWorks, supporting engineering projects, and collaborating with our team to solve real-world challenges in marine manufacturing.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist in developing and refining mechanical designs for manufacturing.
  • Support research, testing, and analysis to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Create and update CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in prototyping, assembly, and validation of mechanical components.
  • Work alongside engineers to troubleshoot design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Contribute to process improvements and explore new materials and technologies.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with industry standards and company requirements.
  • Assist with general engineering and operational tasks, such as inventory counts, organizing materials, and supporting production as needed.
  • Help set up and manage our crib system for material organization and tracking.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in mechanical design.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience with SolidWorks (Pro, PDM, CPQ, Electrical) and AutoCAD .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, control systems, and machining is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a fast-paced environment.
  • Education & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (2nd, 3rd or 4th year preferred).
  • SolidWorks certification or experience with SolidWorks modeling is required.
  • Job Type : Full-time, Monday to Friday
