Job description
Position: Full--Time Long Term Occasional Teaching Position - Intermediate/Senior and English qualifications preferredLocation: Crolancia High SchoolUnion Affiliation: OSSTF-Occasional Teachers Effective immediately until return of incumbent, but not beyond June 25, 2027.This position will remain open until filled.GROW YOUR CAREER WITH KPDSBKeewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario. KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. These documents should be uploaded directly into your Apply to Education portfolio/application.QUALIFICATIONS:OCT Certificate required. Intermediate/Senior and English qualifications or experience preferred. An understanding of current educational philosophies, teaching and learning strategies involved in the Ontario Curriculum, Continuing Education, the Adult Education Credit Strategy, Achieving Excellence, the Renewed Math StrategyWill be familiar with First Nations, Inuit and Metis Cultures within our region and experience working with First Nation, Metis and Inuit students, their families and communities within Northwestern Ontario.Experience as a staff developer, lead learner and facilitatorExcellent leadership and organizational skillsFamiliarity with and/or experience in working cooperatively with staff, administration and educational partnersThis position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) at the employee’s expense.
