Job Purpose

The Intermediate Steel Detailer is responsible for developing drawings based on client specifications and provides leadership to other drafters.

Responsibilities

• Display a commitment to Waiward’s incident-free vision, values, and culture.
• Perform job responsibilities while fully and effectively participating in all relevant company programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Work closely with the Senior Detailers and Checkers on all aspects of a project.
• Mentor, train, and support Junior Detailers.
• Identify and report any contract discrepancies or inconsistencies to supervision.
• Model all facets of moderately complex structures and input connections.
• Produce clear, accurate and well laid out erection drawings.
• Identify and challenges connection design anomalies and inconsistencies.
• Edit most types of assemblies.
• Able to run and issue model generated reports and camdata.

Qualifications

Working Conditions :

The incumbent is required to work in an office environment with moderate noise. The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving and being exposed to normal office routines. Some positions may require standing for intermediate periods of time while completing tasks.

Physical Conditions :

The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
