Responsibilities Maintain the grounds surrounding the building, ensuring it is safe and aesthetically pleasingManage and conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections/checksAssists with moving and storage of supplies and equipmentReport on equipment malfunctionsMaintain and make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, electrical systems, etc.Performs other routine maintenance such as painting, drywall repair etc.Contact and follow-up with contractors, technicians, and service representatives utilized by the organization when necessaryAvailable for emergency callsAdditional duties as assigned by supervisor Qualifications Knows basic carpentry, welding, furnace repair, small appliance repair and safety regulationsMust be self directed, dependable, conscientious, and lead by exampleAbility to organize and complete assigned workloadsStrong verbal and written English communication skillsPhysically fit/able to perform physically demanding job dutiesAble to work as part of a team with other DepartmentPrevious maintenance experience is an assetMust posess a valid drivers licenceMust be double vaccinatedMust be able to provide a clear criminal record/vulnerable sector search About GEM Health Care Group GEM Health Care Group is a Nova Scotian, family run business which has been enhancing the lives of seniors in the communities where they operate since 1979.We continue to remain a leader in transforming how health care is delivered to seniors in Nova Scotia and we strive to provide the best care, service, and quality of life for our residents in a safe, dignified, home-like environment.GEM currently operates various levels of seniors' care facilities throughout Nova Scotia, Ontario, and in Hollywood, Florida.
