The Maintenance Stores and Inventory Coordinator role is to establish an accurate inventory of spare parts, minimize redundancy and set up a reliable vendor base. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
Job Responsibilities :
- Establish and maintain a good working inventory in the stores.
- Input Req’s and convert to Purchase Orders.
- Oversee the receiving, storage and retrieval of inventory items
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels and track inventory movements.
- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
- Work with vendors to upgrade obsolete equipment.
- Coordinate communications between purchasing and maintenance.
- Prepare paperwork for required parts and give to purchasing.
- Work with the tradespeople to establish strong communications regarding parts and delivery timelines.
- Communicate priorities to vendors on breakdown issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage deliveries and resolve any issues related to shipments.
- Negotiate with suppliers on price reductions.
- Suggest upgrades to computer system.
- Assist in shop floor duties when required.
- Additional duties as assigned Is a safety advocate; lead by example by complying with all plant and Occupational Health and Safety policies.
Skills required :
Post-secondary education in a related field significant relevant experience.Experience organizing and maintaining inventories in a Maintenance department.Thorough understanding of stores system and the flow process.Experience implementing and maintaining an ERP system, preferably IFS.Strong computer skills.Strong communication skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
