Job description

The Maintenance Stores and Inventory Coordinator role is to establish an accurate inventory of spare parts, minimize redundancy and set up a reliable vendor base. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Establish and maintain a good working inventory in the stores.
  • Input Req’s and convert to Purchase Orders.
  • Oversee the receiving, storage and retrieval of inventory items
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels and track inventory movements.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Work with vendors to upgrade obsolete equipment.
  • Coordinate communications between purchasing and maintenance.
  • Prepare paperwork for required parts and give to purchasing.
  • Work with the tradespeople to establish strong communications regarding parts and delivery timelines.
  • Communicate priorities to vendors on breakdown issues.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to manage deliveries and resolve any issues related to shipments.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on price reductions.
  • Suggest upgrades to computer system.
  • Assist in shop floor duties when required.
  • Additional duties as assigned Is a safety advocate; lead by example by complying with all plant and Occupational Health and Safety policies.

Skills required :

  • Post-secondary education in a related field significant relevant experience.
  • Experience organizing and maintaining inventories in a Maintenance department.
  • Thorough understanding of stores system and the flow process.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining an ERP system, preferably IFS.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
