YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Intermediate Engineer Lead will be instrumental in owning, leading and delivering impactful projects in Vancouver’s Building Services and Environmental Consultancy space and Healthcare sector. Here's what you will take on working with us : 1. High-Impact Healthcare Projects Lead 5-6 commissioning Building Services projects in Vancouver’s Healthcare sector, managing the entire lifecycle from start to finish. 2. Retrofit Mechanical Design Projects Own 20+ fast-paced, retrofit Building Services projects in the Federal, Provincial, and Health Authority sectors. Assist Principal-In-Charge with preparing and developing all system engineering concepts, such as design briefs and concept reports, within construction budgetary constraints. Arrange and conduct site inspections and existing installation reviews to proactively manage project impact. Prepare design calculations and complete equipment selection while delegating to Designer and CAD Technician where appropriate. Understand and ensure compliance with relevant federal, provincial and local codes and standards across internal and external project teams, owners, and jurisdictional authorities. Implement, recommend and apply industry-leading construction project procurement methodologies. Advise the Principal-In-Charge or Associate Principal of all changes to scope of work and prepare contract amendments, such as RAF, for client review and submission. 3. Project Delivery & Leadership Review all project deliverables including reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications for completeness and accuracy at various stages of development. Promote and enforce standards around project administration and documentation while ensuring alignment with Internal Total Quality Management and Project Team Discipline Coordination Processes. Coordinate documentations and workflows with the Internal and External Project Teams including Architects, Interior Designers, and other disciplines. Ensure tasks are completed accurately and within the designated project budget and assigned hours. Prepare and proactively monitor tasks schedule required for project completion, including hours to perform tasks and critical data required for performance. Liaise with external consultants and third-party vendors as required to ensure smooth project delivery. 4. Contract Administration & Procurement When requested by Principal-In-Charge or Associate Principal, act as a Contract Administrator for the designated project ensuring timely completion of all contract administration activities. Liaise with Contract Administration Team to coordinate drawing reviews and set-up of contract administration processes and site activities in a timely manner. Prepare all change notices or reviews change notices issued by the Contract Administration Team. 5. Client Management & Engagement Handle all incoming project-related technical and financial inquiries from internal and external project teams and owners. Organize and attend client meetings and delivery presentations to key stakeholders while fostering positive client relationships and answering all questions. YOUR BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE 5 to 6 years as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer leading full-service building services and commissioning projects in the Healthcare or Education sector. You have the expertise and ability to switch between a Design and Commissiong Lead on diverse projects. You’re organized, motivated and self-sufficient with the capacity to thrive in fast-paced and dynamic work environments that require multi-tasking and handling competing priorities. You describe yourself as a solutions-driven and an innovative relationship-builder that strives to understand client needs and deliver excellence every single time. You’re a strong communicator and active listener that can effectively engage C-Suite Executive, Project Managers and external key stakeholders.
