Job Description

This role involves working at two main locations, which are approximately a 10-minute Skytrain ride apart. The primary location is in Burnaby, where you will work in the 'Receiving & Repairs' area. The secondary location is a small warehouse in Vancouver that handles retail shipments and returns. You will not be required to work at both locations on the same day, as schedules are planned ahead.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process incoming shipments from UPS at the main office location.
• Count and scan packages to ensure no items are missing.
• Open received packages and ensure they match the customer order number and address in the computer system.
• Diagnose issues with packages and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Log the decided fix for the product and prepare it for shipment.
• Organize returned parts and work areas.
• If excelling in the receiving area, training on software testing and diagnosing may be provided.
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 30 lbs, with occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
• At the Vancouver location, handle retail shipments and receive returns using a manual pallet jack.
• Scan and log received inventory and organize it in assigned areas.
• Support 5S and Lean concepts in the workspace.

Essential Skills

• Proficient computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software.
• Basic English skills for completing forms, logs, and other documents.
• Basic math skills for counting, kitting, and picking.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Previous packaging or warehouse experience.
• Experience in diagnosing or repairing products.
• Interest in and knowledge of the products handled.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a big new office space with employee lounge areas and a smaller warehouse with varied temperatures. Safety is a priority, with high expectations to stay alert to moving equipment and other hazards. The dress code is casual, with closed-toe shoes required. The work is conducted during the first shift, from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime. The repair team currently consists of 4 members, and the warehouse team also has 4 members.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
