Job description

Req ID:518817

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Tender Procurement Manager in Saint-Bruno we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your sourcing and cost management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic, innovative, and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring competitive and robust tender cost commitments that drive the success of our projects. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Bid Managers, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and more), develop and implement sourcing strategies, and contribute to the optimization of our cost productivity and risk management framework.

You’ll specifically take care of managing the sourcing commitment during the tender phase and building a reference library aligned with market prices, but also lead pre-bid agreements to secure competitive advantages.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Building robust and competitive tender cost commitments

  • Managing the Product Sourcing Reference Library to align with market prices

  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies during the tender phase to ensure cost productivity

  • Collecting and formalizing Return of Experience on deployed projects

  • Liaising with various stakeholders to prepare tender sourcing commitments

  • Challenging commodity buyers and managers to increase competitiveness and align strategies with tenders

  • Managing cost opportunities and risks with tender and multi-métier teams

  • Promoting standardization and optimal technology by challenging tender requirements

  • Leading the strategy and monitoring localization requirements (e.g., Buy America, Buy Canada, DBE)

  • Collaborating proactively with Engineering to ensure “Design to Cost” (DTC)

  • Consolidating sourcing commitments during the tender phase, including actualization and firming calculations

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Purchasing, Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Supply Chain, or Finance

  • 5 years of experience in a relevant area such as Project Management, Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, or Supply Chain

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with advanced knowledge of Excel

  • Bilingual: French and English

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills

  • Capacity to perform under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • A results-oriented approach with the ability to apply structured methodologies effectively

  • Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset when collaborating with international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our inclusive and flexible working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning programs

  • Progress towards leadership roles or specialized expertise in sourcing and procurement

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset to facilitate communication with our partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
