Job description

On behalf of our healthcare client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Network Technical Analyst to support a range of IT infrastructure projects in the healthcare sector. This is a 12-month contract opportunity requiring candidates to be located in British Columbia’s Greater Vancouver Area due to significant onsite requirements and local travel to deployment sites.

Summary of the Role

The Network Technical Analyst will support the upgrade of network equipment in acute hospital communication rooms, coordinating network migrations, hardware replacements, and policy configurations while adhering to organizational standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Replace core and edge switches, including migration of settings from legacy systems.
  • Configure routing, firewalls, and NAT policies.
  • Coordinate vendor activities for replacing legacy Metro circuits with CE circuits.
  • Assist with pre-field, staging, and implementation tasks for circuit replacements.
  • Prepare sites for installations and decommission legacy circuits.
  • Perform physical labor related to equipment upgrades and installations.
  • Support network implementation and production cutovers outside regular business hours as required.

Core Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in communications technology or a related field.
  • Vendor network certification (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
  • Minimum 4 years of recent data networking experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in network equipment implementation, planning, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to apply network standards and resolve network issues.

    • Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in healthcare IT infrastructure projects is an asset.
  • Familiarity with network equipment in large-scale environments.
  • Strong communication skills for vendor coordination.

    • Terms

  • This role requires candidates to be based in British Columbia’s Greater Vancouver Area to facilitate significant onsite presence and travel to deployment sites.
  • Project activities may extend beyond regular business hours; however, overtime rates are not applicable.
  • Vendors and candidates must be based in Canada.
  • A criminal record check may be required as part of the hiring process.
  • The contract duration is 12 months, with a target start date of ASAP.
