Customer Service Representative
Job Description
Salary Range - $40,000-45,000
As a Customer Service Representative, you will provide sales support to our customers via telephone, email and at the counter in our Profit Center.
You will provide the highest level of customer service while creating and maintaining a friendly and inviting atmosphere for our customers.
You will be responsible for answering customer inquiries, generating sales leads and closing sales to increase profit sharing.
Additional duties will include :
- Assist customers who purchase material at the counter
- Answer phone calls and emails
- Enter, pick and pack sales orders
- Order management, including sourcing of products as well as follow up on backorders
- Research product for customers and provide recommendations on our assortment of products
- Provide pricing, quotes and stock checks to our customers
- Drive sales growth through ownership of counter merchandising, product promotion, generate sales leads, and networking with customers at the counter
- Work to ensure our inventory reflects the needs and wants of our customers, communicate when stocks levels are low
- Process returns and warranty claims to customers, ensuring paperwork is in compliance with all procedures
- Navigate and find solutions for customer concerns and complaints including resolving issues related to customer orders in accordance with our policies and procedures (SPI’s)
- Warehouse duties including but not limited to unloading of freight trucks, receiving and put away of inventory, replenishment of small bin pick
- Maintain a clean, orderly warehouse and counter area
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and / or University degree an asset
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with customer service or counter sales
- Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills
- Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software to communicate via email, analyze customer data and update customer contact files
- Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks
- Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment, including Lift Trucks
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
Preferred Skills :
- Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing products sold at the Profit Centre
- Ability to use the Internet as a resource to problem solve and find alternative solutions for customers
- Experience using M3, Word, Excel, and Outlook
