Elementary Occasional TeacherLocation:AMDSB Elementary Schools (Grade K-8), [Stratford, St. Mary's, Milverton, Listowel, Goderich, Exeter, Wingham]Start Date: ImmediateWork Schedule: 10 Months/Year (September-June) as required. Rate of Pay: $292.64 daily rate, as of September 1, 2025.Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) provides first class education to students and families throughout Huron and Perth Counties. Opportunity to work in a Board where collaboration, inclusion, and innovation are fostered.Variety of work, our Elementary Occasional Teachers have the opportunity to work at a variety of schools across Perth and Counties.Position Summary:The AMDSB is currently seeking teachers for our Elementary Occasional Teacher list. Elementary Occasional Teachers work in a variety of schools throughout the AMDSB Region (Perth and Huron Counties). Whether you are seeking the flexibility provided by occasional teaching or opportunities to move into long-term assignments or permanent teaching positions, joining the Elementary Occasional Teaching list is a great first step. Requirements:Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (or with an application for OCT Certification in progress); OR currently registered in a Bachelor of Education program leading to OCT certification OR awaiting certification by OCT;As we are an English board, oral and written English proficiency is required; Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months); Occasional Teachers must be available for half or single day occasional teacher coverage on last minute notice;Proven ability to maintain discipline in the classroom (classroom management);Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;Experience working with G-Suite (Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) products.Teacher Candidates:If you are a current teacher candidate, please note that if you are recommended for the Occasional Teacher List, you will be placed on the Emergency List until you are a Member in Good Standing with OCT.
