As a Backend Developer you will design, build, and extend server-side services that power core product functionality. You will handle data processing, business logic, and system integrations that support user journeys.
What will your typical day look like? - Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Build and extend microservices within an existing architecture
- Design and expose APIs consumed by frontend and other systems
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and resilience
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes
- Implement containerization and orchestration solutions to ensure reliable and scalable application deployments
- Support backend services and contribute to development efforts (Java / Spring Boot) once infrastructure is established
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, and proactively address issues
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure operational visibility
- Improve system scalability, security, and resilience across environments
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and product teams to support efficient delivery and deployment workflows
- Support release management, environment configuration, and deployment processes
- Troubleshoot production issues and help maintain system stability
Enough about us, let's talk about you Required Skills & Experience - 8+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Strong experience building microservices architectures
- Proven ability to work within established system architectures
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with cloud-native patterns (e.g., messaging, containerization, resiliency)
- Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows
- Understanding of security concepts (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT)
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS, or similar)
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, etc.)
- Backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with source control systems and modern development workflows
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments
Nice to Have - Experience with automated testing and deployment strategies
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
- Experience supporting high-availability production systems
Total RewardsThe salary range for this position is $84,000 - $175,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
