Job description
Hello! My fun, respectful, and very busy downtown family of four is looking for experienced, efficient, confident, and quiet cooking and cleaning help Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 8:30am-12:30pm starting in September. Your work would involve the following daily breakdown: Mondays/Wednesdays: Laundry, cooking, light groceries, lunch prep, tidying, kitchen/foyer cleaning, and/or errands Fridays: Deep cleaning (bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, floors, dusting, etc) We may also ask for your help with occasional babysitting or walking our two kids to school. We are looking for someone who is obsessed with cleanliness and loves making dust and messes disappear. We also need someone who would be comfortable working in a quiet work-from-home environment and who would not expect daily conversations. Working quietly and efficiently without supervision and responding to direction and requests the first time without being asked again will be highly valued, as will remembering where to put items away and generally taking independent initiative to help our family make it through our very busy weeks. Requirements: - Conscientious and thorough cleaning and careful laundry work - Safe and efficient meal prep and comfort with following recipes and working with a wide range of ingredients including meat and spices - Diligent tidying - Confidence working independently while asking for direction as needed - Proactive and responsive communication via text message as needed during work hours - Legal right to work in Canada (work permit, permanent residency, or citizenship) as we will not be sponsoring a candidate for this role - payment accepted by e-transfer or cheque Appreciated but not required: - Help with meal planning and grocery list assembly based on family food preferences - Familiarity and comfort with vegetarian cooking and meal prep - confidence caring for plants - Experience cooking in a food tradition from beyond Canada, as international home recipes are the best from our perspective. We are looking to begin a mutually respectful, positive, and reliable long-term arrangement with paid holidays and annual cost-of-living increases.
