Job description
Sri's family in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking an elder care and occasional supplemental care provider for their loved ones. Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and versatile Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Attendant Caregiver for a private home setting. This role primarily focuses on providing companionship, personal care, and mobility support for a senior matriarch, along with supplementary care for a second male adult family member who uses a wheelchair. Light housekeeping and laundry duties are also included. This position is currently part-time/full-time live-out, with the opportunity to transition into a live-in position upon mutual fit. Key Responsibilities Primary Care & Companionship (Senior Family Member) Provide engaging companionship, including accompanying her on local outings and staying with her while family is away. Assist with personal support worker (PSW) duties, including toileting, evening routine/getting into bed, and guiding range-of-motion (ROM) exercises. Secondary Care & Assistance (Adult Wheelchair User) Provide occasional supervision during family errands or short absences. Household Support Maintain primary responsibility for cleaning and organizing the primary care recipient's bedroom and bathroom. Manage personal laundry for primary care recipient. Assist with light household duties (e.g., tidying common areas, light meal prep assistance). Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience in personal care, attendant care, or PSW roles (PSW certification or nursing background preferred). Experience with mobility assistance, wheelchair transfers, and ROM exercise routines. Patient, friendly, and engaging personality with strong communication skills. Reliable transportation (valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred for outings). Clean background check (Vulnerable Sector Check) and reference checks. Must be comfortable with large dogs.
