Job Title: Indoor Guest Services Representative

Location: Whitewater Mountain Resort & Nelson Office

Department: Indoor Guest Services

Reports to: Indoor Guest Services Supervisor/Assistant

Employment Status/Type: Part-time/Full-Time December to April, weather dependent

JOB SYNOPSIS:

As a Guest Service Representative, you are responsible for enhancing the experience of our guests’ day at Whitewater. You are responsible for selling and redeeming season passes, day tickets, reconciling daily sales, organizing lost & found and a number of other duties to ensure our guests have a safe and enjoyable visit. You will act as an information resource for the mountain and the Nelson area. Your personal interaction with our Guests will foster a friendly, knowledgeable relationship that they will look forward to renewing each time they visit Whitewater. If working at the Nelson office, you will work at least 1 shift a week up at the hill as well.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guest relations.
  • Sales and redemption of day tickets, programs, and services.
  • Sales and processing of season passes.
  • Act as an information source for the mountain, products, services, and the Nelson area.
  • Assisting in special events and selling snow school programs when necessary.
  • Risk Management as it pertains to our department plus the Resort as a whole.
  • Cash handling (opening and closing duties).
  • Tracking and returning lost & found items.
  • Typing and administration duties.
  • Ensuring the efficient operation and presentation of the Downtown office which includes inside, outside, retail products and the shared workspaces.
  • Guest Relations including managing main phone lines and email inquiries.
  • Acting as an information resource, you must be familiar with all Whitewater products, policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the accounting team at the Downtown Office when required.
  • Other duties as assigned (IGS helps many of the other departments with a wide variety of administrative duties).
  • Champion a sustainable approach in daily operations, planning, and development.
  • Promote Whitewater’s safety culture by reviewing and amending where necessary but not limited to: Department Manuals, Employee Handbook
  • Work to achieve department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assist in achieving organizational goals.
  • Embrace, promote and follow Whitewater’s mission statement and values.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legal standards pertaining to waivers and OHS practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • At least one year of industry experience would be an asset.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional Guest Service skills.
  • Detail-oriented and multi-tasker.
  • Ability to handle difficult customers.
