Your new role

As the Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate andpetitive cost estimates for a variety of electrical construction projects. Reporting to senior leadership, you will review drawings, specifications, and tender packages to develop detailed labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. You will work closely with suppliers, project teams, and subcontractors to ensure bids are bothpetitive and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for design, build, negotiated, and tendered electrical projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Utilize Accubid software to develop accurate andpetitive estimates.
  • Coordinate and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Prepare and manage bid submissions, including addenda, change notices, and bid closings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to securepetitive pricing.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and historical costing information.
  • Analyzepleted projects topare estimated versus actual costs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor industry pricing trends and market conditions to support accurate forecasting and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with operations and project management teams throughout the estimating process.
  • Assist in developing and improving estimating procedures and best practices.
  • Support additional duties as required to meet business objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience within the electrical contracting industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; or
  • Journeyman Electrician certificationbined with estimating experience; or
  • Equivalentbination of education, training, and industry experience.
  • Proficiency with Accubid estimating software is required.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and applicable Canadian Electrical Code requirements.
  • Experience estimatingmercial, industrial, institutional, and/or multi-residential projects.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strongmunication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
