Senior Wealth Planner, Advanced Wealth Planning

Location: This posting is for an existing vacancy across Wellington‑Altus’ corporate offices.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Advanced Wealth Planning, the Senior Wealth Planner is responsible for providing comprehensive wealth solutions for Wellington-Altus (WA) clients, and wealth planning support and value-added services to WA Advisory teams.

Leveraging their industry and/or professional knowledge and experience, the Senior Wealth Planner will develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive wealth plans for business owner, incorporated professional and other high-net-worth clients, and act as a resource for WA Advisory teams.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivery of Advanced Planning Client-Centric Services

  • Facilitating/participating in goals-based discovery process directly with existing and potential clients, helping them to articulate and identify their short and long-term goals.
  • Identifying and entering client information into planning software and generate financial and other wealth plan aspects.
  • Leveraging financial analysis to create and develop detailed wealth plans for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.
  • Managing the various wealth planning deliverables.
  • Collaborating and works closely with client’s other professional advisors in the spirit of delivering a holistic experience.

Support and Value-Added Services

  • Proactively maintaining current and in-depth knowledge of all areas of the wealth planning process, including financial, education, insurance and risk management, retirement, tax, business and estate
  • Driving the WAPW wealth planning process and continuously look for ways to improve and enhance the WAPW client experience.
  • Assisting in developing thought leadership on wealth planning topics.
  • Recognizing and fosters intergenerational wealth management amongst WA advisors and their client
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or diploma in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar field of study.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a wealth planning role.
  • Income Tax and Insurance background an asset.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients, business owners and foreign assets is an asset.
  • CFP or equivalent financial planning designation.
  • Professional designations such as TEP or CLU is an asset.
  • Experience using Conquest is an asset.
  • Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills and time management skills.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a national team whose members have varied backgrounds and industry experience.
  • An ability to exhibit a high level of professionalism that allows clients to feel comfortable discussing personal, confidential information.
  • Strong presentational skills.
  • An ability to keep up to date with Canada’s overall economic and financial environment, current events and trends and changes to legislation as it relates to income tax and wealth transfer planning.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit to participate in Wellington-Altus’s continued growth, and a desire to continuously exceed our client expectations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

Range $120,000.00 - $156,000.00 annually.

This range represents Wellington-Altus's expected range of compensation for this position. Actual compensation will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.

Wellington-Altus's total compensation package for employees may also include discretionary bonuses as well as other perks and rewards. Wellington-Altus also offers health insurance, accident and life insurance, and other unique benefits per location.

  • Must be able to travel 0-5% of the time.

L’occasion :

Relevant de la vice-présidente associée, Planification de patrimoine avancée, le planificateur de patrimoine principal est chargé de fournir des solutions de gestion de patrimoine complètes aux clients de Wellington-Altus ainsi que du soutien à la planification de patrimoine et des services à valeur ajoutée aux équipes de conseillers de Wellington-Altus.

En tirant parti de ses connaissances et de son expérience professionnelles et/ou sectorielles, le planificateur de patrimoine principal élaborera, exécutera et tiendra à jour des plans de gestion de patrimoine complets pour les propriétaires d’entreprise, les professionnels constitués en société et d’autres clients à valeur nette très élevée, et agira à titre de ressource pour les équipes de conseillers de Wellington-Altus.

Les principales responsabilités sont les suivantes :

Prestation de services de planification avancée axés sur les clients

  • Faciliter le processus de découverte axé sur les objectifs, et y participer, en collaboration directe avec les clients actuels et potentiels, afin de les aider à articuler et à déterminer leurs objectifs à court et à long terme.
  • Relever les données du client et les entrer dans le logiciel de planification pour générer les aspects financiers et les autres parties du plan de gestion de patrimoine.
  • Tirer parti de l’analyse financière pour créer et élaborer des plans de gestion de patrimoine détaillés pour les clients à valeur nette élevée et à valeur nette très élevée.
  • Gérer les différents livrables liés à la planification de patrimoine.
  • Collaborer et travailler en étroite collaboration avec les autres conseillers professionnels des clients dans le but d’offrir une expérience globale.

Soutien et services à valeur ajoutée

  • Assurer de façon proactive le maintien de connaissances actuelles et approfondies dans toutes les dimensions de la planification du patrimoine : finances, éducation, assurance et gestion des risques, retraite, fiscalité, planification d’entreprise et planification successorale.
  • Diriger le processus de planification de patrimoine de WAGP et chercher continuellement des moyens d’améliorer et de renforcer l’expérience des clients de WAGP.
  • Aider à développer un leadership éclairé sur les sujets de planification du patrimoine.
  • Reconnaître et favoriser la gestion intergénérationnelle du patrimoine parmi les conseillers de Wellington-Altus et leurs clients.
  • Accomplir d’autres tâches, au besoin.

Le candidat idéal possédera les qualités et compétences suivantes :

  • Diplôme en administration des affaires, en comptabilité, en finances ou dans un domaine d’études similaire.
  • Au moins cinq ans d’expérience à un poste de planification du patrimoine.
  • Expérience dans le domaine de la fiscalité et des assurances, un atout.
  • Expérience dans le domaine des clients à valeur nette élevée, des chefs d’entreprise et des actifs à l’étranger, un atout.
  • Titre de CFP ou titre équivalent en planification financière.
  • Les titres professionnels comme TEP ou AVA sont un atout.
  • De l’expérience avec Conquest est un atout.
  • Maîtrise de la suite MS Office, y compris Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams et Outlook.
  • Les candidats ayant une expérience pratique de l’application d’outils d’IA dans un contexte de planification du patrimoine ou de services financiers seraient considérés comme un atout. Rémunération et avantages sociaux :

Fourchette de $120,000 à $156,000 par année.

Cette fourchette représente la fourchette de rémunération prévue de Wellington-Altus pour ce poste. La rémunération réelle variera et sera fondée sur divers facteurs, comme l’emplacement, les compétences, l’expérience et la qualification pour le poste. La rémunération des postes à temps partiel sera calculée au prorata en fonction du nombre d’heures travaillées régulièrement.
