At Autodesk Informed Design, our mission is to help companies embrace Industrialized Construction through the convergence of Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), and Manufacturing (MFG). We are transforming how buildings are designed and manufactured through scalable digital workflows and connected cloud platforms.

We are looking for a self-motivated Software Engineer to join our team.

Our organizational ecosystem comprises cloud services, desktop add-ins, and web application and client components. In this role, you will play a key role in developing components and services across the Informed Design organization. You will solve complex problems of diverse scope by taking a new perspective on existing solutions and applying best practices in practical situations. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and grow your technical depth while delivering meaningful customer value.

Success depends not only on technical strengths but also on the ability to collaborate, communicate, and contribute positively to a team that values trust, mutual support and respect for different perspectives and skill sets.

This position can be based anywhere in Canada and is a remote-friendly role.

  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, grooming, demos, and retrospectives

  • Contribute to technical discussions, implementation and architecture by leveraging established software design patterns and best practices

  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; participate in deployments and on-call rotations

  • Contribute to system observability, reliability, and performance improvements

  • Leverage modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to improve productivity and quality

  • Continuously learn and apply new technologies and patterns that improve product and team outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience with applications (desktop or web) and cloud services development

  • Experience building software projects with Typescript, C# and/or Python

  • Experience with building secure APIs, Micro-services and Desktop applications

  • Experience with Relational database technologies, e.g. Postgres

  • Hands-on experience with unit and automated testing tools such as Cypress, JMeter, etc.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to converse with multiple audiences, not limited to SW Developers, Managers, etc.

  • Self-directed and a strong sense of ownership with the ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS services and technologies (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS)

  • Experience building or working with CAD applications such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, or other CAD + AEC design software

  • Experience applying AI or automation to improve testing, operational efficiency and developer productivity

  • Exposure to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code

  • Strong preference for simple solutions first over complex solutions
