Job Description

Our client within the construction industry is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join their team.

In this role, you responsibilities will encompass a range of HR areas, including employee relations, talent management, policy interpretation, and organizational design.

Please note : This is a fully on-site role in Mississauga, ON.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate positive and productive relationships with leaders at all levels and establish your credibility among employees.
  • Contributes to company performance by offering strategic consultancy on people and organizational development strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Handles HR responsibilities while assisting multiple functional groups, serving as the primary HR contact for assigned internal client groups.
  • Acts as an internal subject matter expert on employee and labor relations.
  • Participates as a member of the HR leadership team to aid in the development and upkeep of the HR Roadmap, setting priorities, and establishing goals for the HR department.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching and consultation to leadership on various matters, such as employee relations, labor relations, talent development, and organizational design.
  • Act as a bridge between your client groups and HR functional teams, including HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Disability Management, Recruiting, Talent & Performance, and Learning & Development.
  • Assist in managing organizational structure and design changes, ensuring proper communication and documentation.
  • Support leadership in implementing performance management, talent development, and coaching programs.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to management regarding employee terminations, exit interviews, and related documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A Diploma in a related field from a recognized institution.
  • CHRL designation or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of Human Resources experience
  • Profound understanding of collective agreements and relevant HR legislation, such as ESA, OHSA, OHRC, and OLRA.
  • Strong team player with exceptional leadership skills, negotiation abilities, and the capacity to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, showcasing attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Proven competence across various HR domains, including succession planning, performance management, labor relations, and coaching.
  • Bilingualism is an asset
