Compensation
Effective September 1, 2026 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2026 - $15, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).
Qualifications
1) A graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in Indigenous Health (or a related area), or equivalent (this may include being a holder of Indigenous Knowledges).
2) First Nations, Inuit or Métis candidates are strongly encouraged to apply and if they wish, to self-identify in their cover letter. Self-identified Indigenous applicants will be prioritized for this appointment.
3) If no appropriate Indigenous applicants apply, non-Indigenous applicants who have a demonstrated track record of ethical partnerships with Indigenous peoples and/or communities will also be considered
4) Demonstrated ability to engage with complex issues in a culturally sensitive way and understanding of issues related to colonization, reconciliation and Indigenous health are required.
5) Previous experience with online Graduate and/or Undergraduate courses related to Indigenous health is also preferred.
6) Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
