Job description

Overview

About Us:

Momentum Design Build, part of The Hazelwood Group, is a locally owned and operated design + build company known for our high-quality custom homes, multi-family developments, and commercial projects. We take pride in managing the full project journey—from the first sketch to the final nail—with a collaborative, client-focused approach.

As part of The Hazelwood Group, we offer the best of both worlds: small-team flexibility backed by the strength of a larger organization. Learn more at momentumdb.ca and hazelwood.ca.

As our Superintendent, you’ll be the driving force on site — overseeing every stage of construction, from the first shovel in the ground to project completion. You’ll lead crews, coordinate subcontractors, and keep operations running efficiently, safely, and on budget. The ideal candidate is comfortable working remotely, managing multiple projects at once, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Benefits of Employment – Why Work at Momentum?

  • Locally owned, full-service design + build firm
  • Career development support (apprenticeship, training, certifications)
  • Long-term, full-time employment — we’re building for the future
  • 100% employer-paid health & dental benefits after 3 months
  • TELUS Health Virtual Care + Employee & Family Assistance Program
  • A collaborative culture that values your voice and ideas
  • Community-minded with corporate support for volunteering

Compensation

  • $90,000 to $130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Variable Compensation up to 20% of your annualized base wage based on project schedule adherence and profitability targets being met.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee all site operations to ensure compliance with plans, specs, codes & safety regulations
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and executing construction projects start to finish
  • Monitor schedules and budgets, adjusting plans as needed
  • Lead onsite project meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, architects & subcontractors
  • Organize daily staffing and ensure all materials and equipment are on hand
  • Maintain daily logs, timesheets, take-offs, and handle documentation
  • Enforce safety policies, conduct regular inspections, and ensure PPE availability
  • Hire, supervise, and coordinate trades and site staff
  • Ensure accurate close-out and reporting at project completion
  • Tackle any challenges that arise, head-on

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years in commercial construction & site supervision
  • Solid knowledge of compliance regulations (local, provincial, federal)
  • Proven success in managing scope, cost & schedule
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Skilled at building positive relationships with teams & stakeholders
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and resource-savvy
  • First aid training/certification (asset)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to put in extra hours when needed
